This weekend we went to Maine to visit Grammy Denise who has recently relocated back to her routes. We stayed with her at Great Aunt Monique and Uncle Kip's in Shapleigh. We had a blast swimming in the lake and Oliver went for his first boat ride.

16 Months old
Oliver is now 16 months old. It is pretty incredible to think of how far he has come. I can not believe that in less than 4 months we will be doing it all over again. Oliver is a little hellion at times but I would not have it any other way. He is now starting to run and he climbs on everything. Oliver loves to give kisses especially when someone is going bye bye. He'll stand in the doorway, wave and say byyyee. His vocabulary is growing with each passing day. His first word was dog and every animal was a dog. We finally got him to distinguish the difference of a cat and he even says the word. Whenever he hears a phone ring he yells out hellooooo. When he finishes his meals he'll say aaaaa daa (all done). He'll point at something and say whasat (what's that) as though it's one word. You can see the wheels in his brain spinning. Ask him where's the light and he'll look up and around and if any lights are on he points. Ask, Oliver where's your nose? He points to his nose and says nos and of course claps for himself. He finally understands the meaning of the word No. Doesn't mean he always listens but he'll at least stop, look at me and shake his head. Oliver is an awesome eater and will eat almost anything. He loves to be in the water at swim class and always tries to shove his face in the water. Grandpa got him warmed up to the beach and he likes to splash around in the waves. Each day is a new experience and the learning now comes in leaps and bounds. Can't wait to see what the next few months have to bring and how the new baby will fair in Oliver's world.

Holy Boy
Today Oliver became a holy boy. We had him baptized at Our Lady of the Lakes Church. We chose Uncle Jason and Cioci Kim to be his Godparents along with Larz's sister Jocelyn who was unable to make it up from PA. We started the morning off with mass in what I call the bad baby room. It's a sound proof room with pews and glass so you can see the service and hear from a speaker. By the time the ceremony began Oliver was way overdue for a nap and got quite fussy at times. Aunt Katie made a comment to Cheryl asking her if this was a baptism or an exorcism. LOL...... After everything was over we celebrated at our house with friends and relatives.
